Cold Father
The genre of my essay would be a reflection of course. Some of characteristics are the format and style of the writing. In order to write “Cold Father”, once again I had an idea of where I would start, my difficulty is to develop my thoughts onto paper itself. My idea was to interpret “repression” by Freud to show the relation of the conscious and the unconscious mind. How the mind works in a way we can describe and make sense. Unwanted memories turn to the back of your head meaning the unconscious mind. Although, the memory isn’t forgotten it’s almost as if it were lost but it’ll still be there. Just how Professor Alyssa demonstrated in our class, the annoyance of the repressed memory will be there and try to make its way to be heard. What motivated me was the idea of writing about these topics because it’s very interesting to me, especially like I mentioned before how the mind can split and have these memories and ideas because we’re looking into dreams now.
The purpose of this piece of writing is to show my understandings of the stories we’ve read in class. What I hope to accomplish is to make sure I made it clear that I did understood and to hopefully catch my readers attention too. I proofread my writings and sometimes I can always find one mistake or another. My audience is my Professor Alyssa and anyone who would like to read my writing and my thoughts on the conscious and the unconscious mind.
Writer’s perspectives, well for me it was interesting and attention grabbing, to learn about the differences, another thing that was helpful is showing us how to cite and make sure everything was correct and also correcting us when using the correct subject.
